Everyone Wants money money money! I am a married 28 year old ex marine with a 2 year old daughter. After being discharged last year from a medical injury I found myself with no job no money and no place to go. We moved to Oklahoma so the wife could attend OU fulltime. We have no family here, so we were totally on our on. I had no education, besides a HS diploma. I could draw disability, but having a family to take care of I had to work full time.....that alone was the biggest struggle with a bad back and no training, besides in diesel mechanics which is too harsh on my back. Well, hard work is paying off. I am still in college and my wife graduates next year with her BS in criminology. We are so used to getting past due notices, we dont even care anymore. Our credit is shot and my back is even worse. I make 975 every 2 weeks and because my wife doesn't get healthcare, we have to pay 195 every 2 weeks for the both of us. My daughter gets soonercare (medicade). Because ofthe medications and problems with my brain, chiari malformation, and my back, most doctors won't see me ....I have to pay for healthcare I can't use and use the dreaded VA. But my wife is a type I diabetic, so I can't drop the insurance. So, I bring home around 700 every 2 weeks. 600 dollors rent, 235 car payment, insurance, daycare copay, we use the methodist food ministry. 25 dollar months supply of food. it's not great but it's edible. We try to only use loans in dire need. Atleast we haven't given up on school, yet. Church keeps us going when we want to quit. But yet I see people crying about wanting a house or business. Come on people. I served my country. I had good pay and a comfortable lifestyle. Now because I want a better life for my daughter and wife I get threatened for lawsuits constantly. My credit is crying right now but I refuse to quit school to get a better job. I want more money. Not to be rich or buy anything unnecassary, but just pay my biolls and buy my daughter and wife a nice brthday present. I'm not crying or complaining. One day I will be able to live comfortably, because I refuse to give up. But, it would be nice to take a break or pay my bills on time. Or see a good doctor who isn't afraid to fix me. Yeah, I am going into depressed mode here, but after reading someof the other things people have written, I am praying for you. Because if some of you knew how bad the rest of us have it, you would be grateful. Never takefor granted being able to sleep soundly, because you could be like one of the millions of people like me. So depressed you never sleep. Because when you close your eyes, you see how disappointed your 2 year old is when she has to open that crappy present you bought her because you had text books to buy. You see the kid around the corner playing in the new Barbie Jeep and you want to tear up. You see the little boys daddy next door lift him up over his head and swing him around and you run to the bathroom to weep. You never brag to anyone or ever let your wife know you opted for the raggedy text book you can barely read because you wanted to take her out to eat for our anniversary. Time does heal pain, but how long does it take for the wounds to scab? How many times does the landlord have to call about late rent before you admit to yourself your wife would have been better off marrying someone with either money or good health. No doubt in anyone's mind I love her, but money does make the world go round. If you have it, you never know how much it means, if you don't you never know how easy life is. For those of you out there that wonder if life gets better, I'm here to tell you no it doesn't. There's always another obstacle to overcome and another road to cross. And it does always seem when you're ready to take that first step, traffic gets heavier. All I can say is what's been said a million times. And yes, I can attribute to it. Always live the good life. When you're outta money and you can't get that class to clear and your baby is outta diapers, don't say why me. God doesn't pick on anyone. Fate happens to everyone. Shit, excuse the language, happens to all of us sometimes. It's what you do when fate works against you, that God watches. Think about it. Do you want the middle linebacker who blames everyone else around him for the touchdown, yet takes all the credit whe he makes a good play. Or do you want the quiet guy who gives everyone credit when something good happens & takes full responsibility for mishapps? It's not a hard decision. It's easy to see who will get along with the team.. Pretty much works the same for God. He doesn't want to be blamed when it's not his fault. Or credit taken away when he did something good for an ungratefull SOB. If I have no diapers or no money for my class, it's my fault for not getting any when I had money or paying for my class early. But the trick is thanking him when he deserves it. Did I have diapers left when I had no money for none......thank the old man. Did you fall into some money when you had to pay for that class? Thank him again. We would be a better people if we blamed less and thanked more. It's simple people. There's no damn books or cd's you need for this. Use your brain housing group God gave you and you can't go wrong. That's my 2 cents. Take it for what it's worth. I hope I helped atleast one person. Thank you and Semper Fidelis.
